After tirelessly testing dozens of snowboard goggles (and yes, my eyes are still adjusting to normal light), I’ve uncovered the holy grail; budget-friendly goggles that won’t make your wallet cry.

We’re talking fog-free views, comfort that could rival your favorite pillow, and durability that’ll survive even the most epic wipeouts.

So, if you’re ready to hit the slopes without breaking the bank (or your face), let’s dive into the world of the best budget snowboard goggles.

The Best Budget Ski and Snowboard Goggles

1. The Outdoormaster ULTRA Snowboard Goggles

Best Bang For Your Buck!
2. OutdoorMaster ULTRA Snow Goggles + Lens Bundle
  • Amazing value
  • Packed with high-end tech
  • Great anti-fog properties
  • Excellent field of vision
  • Huge choice of lenses
  • Same features as premium brands - without the premium price tag

✖️ Build quality not as premium as Smith
✖️ Not the cheapest option listed (but try the code below for 15% off)

Try code SBDAYS15 for an extra 15% off your order (when purchased through Outdoormaster directly).

  • Key features: extra wide field of view, super HD technology, one-second lens swap, official supplier to the U.S. Ski team,
  • Lens: Interchangeable magnetic design. This package comes with a spare lens.

These are definitely the best budget snowboard goggles on the market. I’ve actually found myself using them more than my Smith I/O Mag goggles – which cost over twice as much!

One quick disclaimer – the Ultra are technically only under $100 right now due to being on sale. However, if the sale has ended, you might still be able to grab them for under a hundred bucks using the discount code above.

I know $100 might not exactly be “budget.” But the reason that these have to top the list is that they offer every feature of top-end goggles like the Smith I/O and Oakley Flight Deck – for a fraction of the cost.

However, if they are still slightly above your price range, scroll down for some cheaper options.

2. Dragon DX3 OTG Snowboard Goggles

Best Seller
2. Dragon DX3 OTG Snowboard Goggles
  • These look amazing!
  • Awesome Lumalens Tech.
  • Dragon makes a great goggle.
  • Currently $70

✖️ Comes with one lens.

  • Key features: lumalens color optimized technology, Over-The-Glass compatibility, super anti-fog coating,
  • Lens: Single lens, not easily interchangeable.

Dragon make some pretty awesome snowboard gear, and the DX3 goggles are no different!

They look much more expensive than they are and function like a goggle at a much higher price-point. The lumalens technology adds contrast to the snow, making it easier to avoid hidden bumps on cloudy days.

They have great ventilation and they’ve done a really good job with the anti-fog technology.

One downside of this pair is the lack of an interchangeable lens. This can make it harder to adapt on particularly sunny or cloudy days. However, lumalens makes up for this to a degree and some riders prefer a simple one-lens solution.

3. OutdoorMaster PRO Snowboard Goggles

Runner Up!
  • Another gem from Outdoormaster.
  • Cheaper than the Ultra but with plenty of features.
  • Comes with spare lenses.
  • Currently $89

✖️ Not quite as premium as the Ultra - but close!

Discount code: Use promo code SBDAYS15 for an extra 15% off your order (when purchased through Outdoormaster directly).

  • Key features: one-second lens swap, official supplier to the U.S. Ski team, enhanced polarised lens,
  • Lens: Interchangeable magnetic design. This package comes with a spare lens.

Another banger from OutdoorMaster!

If you liked the look of the Ultra but found they were slightly out of budget, the OutdoorMaster PRO is a great alternative. Coming in at $40-50 less than the Ultra, they still provide most of the same great features.

The cheaper price does mean you’ll lose out on the “extra wide field of view” and super HD technology – but the PRO is still a premium goggle at a great price. The magnetic lens change system is such a nice bonus!

4. Smith Frontier Snowboard Goggles

Premium Brand, Low Price
4. Smith Frontier Snowboard Goggles
  • Best budget option from Smith Optics.
  • Loads of colorways!
  • Only $50 at the time of writing.

✖️ Basic compared to the Ultra/Pro

  • Key features: flexible face-forming fit, ultimate helmet integration, silicone backed strap, low-profile fit,
  • Lens: Standard. Not easily interchangable. Comes with one lens.

Smith Optics are the king of snowboarding goggles! Whilst most of their line-up is very expensive, the Frontier is definitely affordable. This allows you to get Smith’s great goggle quality at a more budget-friendly price.

The goggles function really nicely and are designed to fit most faces well. They don’t come with all the bells and whistles – but you can’t expect much more from a premium brand at this price point.

5. Spy Crusher Elite Snow Goggle

"Crushes" The Basics
5. Spy Crusher Elite Snow Goggle
  • Anti-fogging
  • Great ventilation
  • Fits OTG (Over The Glasses)
  • Helmet compatible.

✖️ Badass but basic.

  • Key features: great anti-fog tech, OTG approved, quality materials.
  • Lens: Standard. Not easily interchangable. Comes with one lens.

Spy Optics are another top-notch goggle brand. They have some super premium products in their line-up but as you can imagine, these come at a price!

Luckily, they recently introduced the Crusher Elite goggle. This absolutely smashed it’s way into the budget goggle market.

If you’re looking for a no-nonsense goggle that simply does everything well, these are for you.

Best Budget Snowboard Goggles On Amazon

If the brand-name options above are still out of your price range, here are some super budget options on Amazon.

These are all under $50 and so are an absolute bargain!

Pro Tip

If you can slightly stretch your budget to one of the 5 goggles above - I strongly recommend it. The goggles below are all great options (for the price) but they're not going to live as long or perform as well. A couple of extra bucks goes a long way at this price point!

You also receive a high-quality, long strap that won’t break, making it easy to fit the goggles around most helmets. Overall, if you’re looking for a good and affordable pair of goggles, this option from ZIONOR would be an excellent choice.

Pros

  • Excellent ventilation: Plenty of air vents on the goggles keep sweat from getting trapped inside.
  • Great lenses: outstanding visibility (for the price) plus anti-fog and anti-scratch features at a fraction of the price of other quality goggles.

Cons

  • Reflective coating: Make sure you’re careful with the reflective layer. Scratchy towels can rub it off easily. Only use microfiber materials! To combat this issue you might also want to order some anti fog spray.

  • DETACHABLE LENS SYSTEM-The detachable lens system offers spare lenses with different colors, VLTs suitable for different weather conditions and personal preference when skiing, snowboarding or other winter sports.

This affordable option comes with detachable lenses, allowing you to use different colors and VLTs – best suited for various lighting conditions (I discussed this in my article about night skiing). Note: to ensure you get the spare lens, make sure you choose the right package.

Pros

  • Interchangeable lenses: Swapping out lenses when the lighting conditions change is a great feature. You can have lenses for flat light, which make it much easier to see obstacles on the slopes.

Cons

  • Weak strap: The strap is reportedly slightly prone to snapping, so don’t pull on it too roughly.

3. Best Anti-Fog: Jetblaze Snowboard Goggles

JetBlaze Snowboard Goggles
  • Optimized Performance Ski Goggles - Solid, double-layered lenses and durable lens, enhanced anti-scratch and smart ventilation system. Multiple technologies combined to help deter fogging.

These JetBlaze goggles offer great visibility with their anti-fog and 100% UV protection. No matter the weather outside, these goggles don’t fog. This product is for you if you’re looking for affordable anti-fog features.

Pros

  • Excellent visibility: The goggles are very clear and provide great anti-fog benefits. The dual lenses should never obscure your vision.

Cons

  • Not suitable for glasses: Even though the company advertises them as fitting well over glasses, some people found they can’t seem to make them fit comfortably.

These bad boys have held their position as the top reviewed snowboard goggle on amazon for quite some time. For a budget pair of goggles, the tend to do everything well. They even have a magnetic interchangeable lens system – this works well but does feel slightly less secure than the Outdoormaster goggles.

Pros

  • Great field of vision: Large spherical lens design allows a pretty big field of vision (though the frames are bulkier than more premium options).
  • Magnetic lens system: Locked and loaded. Similar to the Outdoormaster these use magnetic lenses – the difference is that these also use a plastic clip to secure them.

Cons

  • Fogging: Unfortunately on bad weather days, these struggled with fogging issues more some of the other options.

The Snowboard Goggle Price Search

Here’s a little bonus trick. Basically, type in the product you need and we’ll search for the best price!

Wrapping Up!

There you have it. The best budget snowboard goggles under $100!

Hopefully you’ve managed to pick up a pair.

My general advice would be not to get too caught up in the finer details. You’ll notice a lot of marketing jargon on the manufacturer’s websites. You can ignore this for the most part, as long as you’re sticking with a reputable brand!

More important than features is fit. Make sure you’re getting a tight seal around your face and helmet. Make sure the strap is tightened enough to maintain the fit, but not so tight that it restricts air flow.

I haven’t bought a pair of goggles in some time. I’ve thought about getting back into snowboarding but some of my equipment is pretty old. Has there been much difference in goggles in the last few years? Finances are a little tight (hence I’m looking for the best budget snowboard goggles i can afford). My goal is to buy the equipment a bit at a time so I’m ready this winter. Any suggestions?

Hey. Goggles have changed loads in the last 5-years or so. Magnetic lens changing, improved venting, better peripherals, contrast tech etc. You’ll definitely notice an big difference compared to the old pair. If you’re on a tight budget, I recommend the Smith Frontier. If you can stretch to it, the OutdoorMaster Ultra or Pro offer lots more for your money. Hope that helps!

I like the OutdoorMaster PRO. The Jetblaze would be my second choice in a bind.

Sometimes there’s a razor’s edge between budget items and shoddy items but people shouldn’t think expensive always equals high quality. I would personally avoid the Amazon options as they usually sit more towards the shoddy end of the spectrum. The OM Pro are probably the best budget snowboard goggle I’ve ever had. These days I’ve moved onto my Smith I/O Mag (a different league, but over $250!). Interesting to see how technology moves on over the years

I’ve been through a bunch of goggles in the last few seasons. Can confirm, the Zionor Lagopus are one of the best budget snowboard goggles. However, I’d recommend saving up and pitching for the OutdoorMaster options. I didn’t expect much, but actually – they are pretty damn nice (I got the Ultra).
