Snowboard Binding Sizes for Different Brands

Snowboard Binding Size Chart – For 13 Different Top Brands!

by Fraser

Needless to say, getting the right binding size is critical when snowboarding. Unfortunately, there is currently no standardized snowboard binding size chart for all the different brands.

Why is this?

Who knows! But it’s pretty darned annoying!

To help you out, I put together some snowboarding binding size charts for several different snowboard brands. I’ve chosen some of the top brands – so you’ll definitely find a good pair from one of the companies below.

Once you’re ready to buy, check out our snowboard gear price search tool. This scans over 100 US stores to find the best price on your gear.

How To Choose The Right Size Snowboard Bindings.

The first thing that you need to understand is that most binding brands offer 3 general sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. But, as there are no generally agreed-upon standards for manufacturers to adhere to, this doesn’t mean a whole lot.

There’s therefore a decent amount of variation between what one manufacturer considers a small and a medium. A size 7 boot may need a small binding in some brands but a medium in others.

Because of this, make sure that you try the binding on for yourself before purchasing. If this isn’t possible, order based on the snowboard binding size charts below.

Properly sized snowboard bindings should fit as follows:

  • The boot fits easily into the binding heel-cup, but does not leave large gaps between the boot and the sides of the binding.
  • The sole of the boot does not significantly overhang the footbed (noting that most footbeds are adjustable to some degree).
  • The heel and ankle straps are able to fit comfortably in the centre of the boot, without needing to be extended to the maximum length. If you’re needing the use the last holes, the binding is probably too small.
  • Once strapped in, the binding can comfortably hold the boot in place with minimal movement.

Do All Bindings Fit All Snowboard Sizes?

This is a super common question. Unfortunately, the answer is a solid no.

Bindings that are too small for your board will reduce your ability to drive hard into turns. This will make your board feel unresponsive and sluggish.

On the other hand, having too large a binding footprint can result in toe or heel drag – which leads to crashes!

Thankfully, most people will manage just fine with a normal board width. However if you have large feet, check your snowboard specs to see whether a wide board is needed.

The easiest way to size your boots with your bindings and your board is to buy them in that order. For example:

  1. Boots
  2. Find bindings that fit perfectly with your boots
  3. Get the right board width for your boots/bindings

What To Do If You're Between Binding Sizes!?

You’ll notice that for some brands, certain sizes will fit into both a medium and a large. This can make it tricky to choose the right size.

My advice would be to aim to be more in the middle of the size range if possible. For example, a size 10 would likely be better off in size range 9-11 than squeezing into the 7-10.

If in doubt, order the binding and test it with your boots indoors before heading riding it.

Conclusion

As you can see, there is quite a variety out there when it comes to binding size for snowboards!

If my general rambling hasn’t made things any clearer, the video below is super helpful!

Alternatively, check out how tight your snowboard bindings should be.

Happy riding!
