Choosing the right binding size is vital when snowboarding.
Unfortunately, there are currently no standardized snowboard binding size charts for the many different brands.
Why?Â
Who knows! But it’s annoying!Â
So I put together some binding size charts for several different snowboarding brands.Â
Check them out below!

How To Choose The Right Size Snowboard Bindings
The first thing to understand is that most binding brands offer 3 general sizes:
- Small
- Medium
- Large
However… as there are no set standards for manufacturers, this doesn’t mean much!
A size 7 boot may fit a small binding in some brands but a medium in others.Â
Because of this, try the binding on for yourself before purchasing. If this isn’t possible, order based on the snowboard binding size charts below.Â
Properly sized snowboard bindings should fit as follows:Â
- The boot fits easily into the binding heel-cup, but does not leave large gaps between the boot and the sides of the binding.Â
- The sole of the boot does not significantly overhang the footbed (noting that most footbeds are adjustable to some degree).Â
- The heel and ankle straps are able to fit comfortably in the centre of the boot, without needing to be extended to the maximum length. If you’re needing the use the last holes, the binding is probably too small.Â
- Once strapped in, the binding can comfortably hold the boot in place with minimal movement.Â
Do All Bindings Fit All Snowboard Sizes?
Unfortunately not.Â
- Bindings that are too small for your snowboard will reduce your ability to drive into turns. This will make your board feel unresponsive and sluggish.
- On the other hand, having too large a binding footprint will result in toe or heel drag – which leads to crashes!

Thankfully, most people will manage just fine with a normal board width. However if you have large feet, check your snowboard specs to see whether a wide board is needed.Â
The easiest way to size your boots with your bindings and board is to buy them in that order. For example:

What To Do If You're Between Binding Sizes!?
You’ll notice that for some brands, certain sizes will fit into both a medium and a large.
This is confusing.Â
Try to choose the size that keeps you in the middle of the size range.
For example:
- A size 10 is better in a binding with a size range of 9-11, rather than squeezing into the 7-10.Â
This ensures a nice comfortable fit and avoids maxing out the straps.Â
If in doubt, order the binding and test it with your boots indoors before heading out.Â
Conclusion
As you can see, choosing the correct binding size can be difficult. Particularly with the lack of coordination between brands!
Hopefully our snowboard binding size charts have made life easier.Â

You should definitely also check out how tight your snowboard bindings should be.
Happy riding!
