Ready to kick your snowboard’s performance up a notch?
We all know that the right wax makes all the difference. Especially when the conditions are questionable (I’m looking at you East Coast).
So today, let’s chat about the best all temp snowboard wax options.
The Quick Answer
- Best Performance: SWIX F4-180 Glidewax was the top performing all-temp snowboard wax.
- Best Value: PURL All Temp Snowboard Wax offers excellent all-weather versatility at a great price.
Why Choose All-Temp Snowboard Wax?
Different waxes are formulated to perform best at different temperature ranges. Some excel in icy conditions, others enjoy that warm spring slush.
All temp snowboard wax, as the name suggests, is the type of snowboard wax designed to perform well across a range of snow temperatures.
While it might not outperform a temperature-specific wax in its ideal conditions, all temp wax is a great all-around choice. If you only plan on buying one snowboard wax this season, this should probably be it!

How I Tested Each All-Temp Snowboard Wax
This part was pretty straightforward!Â
Whilst in season, I tend to wax my board once or twice per week. I bought a load of different options, and tried a different one every 5-7 days.Â
Obviously the conditions varied a little, but over the course of a week I tend to have ridden a pretty wide range of weather and terrain.Â
Some waxes were so bad that my board felt worse after using them than it did before!
My Overall Favorite All-Temp Wax
If I was to choose just one, it’d be the PURL all-temp snowboard wax.
Sure, the SWIX F4 might be slightly ahead in terms of performance. But for the same price, you get almost triple the amount of wax with PURL.
They’re also a USA grown small business, and members of the 1% for the planet movement (which I try to support wherever possible).Â
Here’s a quick video showing the PURL wax in action (and serving as a reminder on your waxing technique).Â
Remember Your Accessories
No hot wax is complete without a trusty wax scraper. If you don’t have a snowboard iron, you’ll of course need one of those too!
You could pick up a complete snowboard wax kit, but some of them are a little cheap and tacky. They don’t always come with the best wax either.Â
Final Thoughts
I’m hoping this article helps you to find the perfect all-temp wax.Â

And remember, riding an unwaxed board is like driving an un-oiled Lambo; sure, it’ll move, but you’ll never experience it’s full potential.
Happy riding!
