Is Ride a Good Snowboard Brand? [An Honest Review]

Updated:

Ride have a bit of a cult following. In fact, some of my buddies won’t buy any other brand. But is Ride a good snowboard brand?

Ride are an excellent snowboard brand and one of the top choices of hardcore riders. They are renowned for building high-quality and high-performing snowboards, suitable for wherever you’re shredding.

When you go through Ride’s lineup, you just know that fun and performance are top priority. But are they right for you? Let’s take a look!

Who Are Ride Snowboards?

Ride Snowboards was established in the early 1990s in Redmond, Washington. They started out with only a handful of boards, but people couldn’t get enough of them. They therefore soon expanded their offerings, cementing their reputation as a quality snowboard brand.

Ride now offers a range of snowboard boots and bindings, which are popular with snowboarders worldwide. The brand is now owned by Kohlberg & Company, which acquired Ride along with K2 in a merger. However, Ride still feels and behaves like a true snowboard brand, putting riders first.

Why Is Ride A Great Snowboard Brand?

Die-hard Ride fans love how durable Ride snowboards are. My buddies are confident their boards will take a beating and stand the test of time. This also makes them excellent value for money, as you’ll have no problem keeping hold of a Ride snowboard for several seasons.

Ride also makes some incredibly high-performing and entertaining snowboards. For example, the Ride Warpig is a hard-charging and aggressive snowboard with a shocking amount of pop.

I tried a Warpig for the first time last season. I can confirm that it lives up to the hype. Due to the added width, I was able to downsize and ride one of the most nimble little rippers I’ve ever tried.

But there are Ride snowboards for all tastes on offer, including an exceptional range of freestyle boards.

In recent years, Ride has even experimented with split tails, interesting profiles and crazy shapes… with excellent results. So if you’re looking for something a little different or special, Ride could be the brand for you. Here are a few of their new boards:

Ride Snowboard Prices

The other great thing about Ride snowboards is that they are reasonably priced. This means you can progress to a higher-end board when you’re ready for less.

You could easily pitch Ride snowboards against higher-priced boards from other brands and be impressed by how they compare relative to their prices.

Ride Snowboard Bindings

You can complement your Ride snowboard with a pair of matching bindings. It’s a good idea to go for a “one-brand setup,” as you know the board and bindings will work well together.

I wouldn’t say that Ride makes the best of the best bindings, but they provide great comfort and performance.

The Pros and Cons Of Ride Snowboards
